KORI STEWART

Kori Stewart is a DMV based Disc Jockey and events curator. As the founder of Groove Haul, she firmly believes creating space for talented and underrepresented minorities is the best way to positively impact her community.

As a DJ, KORIS pronounced (chor-us), promises her listeners one thing... a good time! She features a broad musical selection that guarantees to touch everyone on the dance floor. Some of the many genres she spins includes, house, tech house, ghetto tech, jersey/ bmore club, and any funky remix to your favorite song. Kori believes sharing music with others behind the decks is her way of giving you a big hug.

HALO WARREN

Halo Warren is a DMV-based photographer and videographer capturing raw energy and authentic stories through visuals. As a core member of the creative collective Groove Haul, Halo collaborates with local artists to bring culture and movement to life on screen. Their hair and style page, Lov3Halo, showcases another side of their creative expression—where identity meets aesthetic. Always evolving, Halo brings vision and vibe to every frame.

“JACKIECHANSDOG is a sound and visual curator born and based in DC. Swayed by musical styles pioneered by black people; of all backgrounds; for decades, they often pay tribute to genres such as House, Club, Techno, Bass, R&B, GoGo, Juke, Jungle, Dnb, HipHop, Bouyon, Funk, Grime, and more.

Among being a co-founder for the party series, Yearn, JCD can also be found spinning for Church on Sunday, Goodnight, Taxi!, Grindstone, Groovehaul, T&T (NYC) and more.”

AIYO MAATAFALE

Aiyo Maatafale is an independent creative based in California. Their background lies in fashion and creative direction.

“While I’m not a dj I can always enjoy a good party great music and love nothing more than dancing the night away”As the Internal Creative Co-lead their main goal is to create captivating and enticing spaces open to all audiences. With a strong belief and commitment to community building, they hope to bring people together through art and diverse experiences.

RHYTHM BOWERS

DJ CYB3R T0NIN is a multidimensional sonic explorer from Washington, DC, blending ethereal textures, breakbeats, and experimental edits into lush, animated soundscapes. Inspired by animation, cyberspace, and the diasporic experience, her sets flow like portals—where nostalgia meets futurism and sound becomes a visual language. Rooted in DC’s raw, independent spirit and shaped by global sonics, her mixes are immersive, playful, and rich with serotonin. Whether channeling dreamy house or glitchy percussive builds, she invites listeners into layered journeys of emo, movement, and memory—where rhythm guides you through a surreal, technicolor world.

JAY ALLEN

Jay AKA MOONCRUMB is a DJ and producer shaping soundscapes that move both bodies and minds. Based in the DMV, Jay is known for genre-blending sets and immersive production that reflect a deep love for underground culture and community. A member of the creative collective Groove Haul and co-founder of Yearn, Jay helps cultivate spaces where music, art, and intention collide. With each mix and project, Jay pushes boundaries and invites listeners to feel more deeply.

COURTNEY SMITH

Courtney Smith is a music enthusiast and community historian from St. Louis, MO who believes curating events through music and culture will result in true community bonding! Courtney's favorite genres include Chicago house, Soul/R&B, Hip-Hop, and anything from the 80s. For Courtney, music is one of her favorite ways to share Black history and connect our communities throughout the country and the diaspora.

As the lead of the Administrative team, Courtney partners with all members of Groove Haul to ensure events are organized and successful in all facets.

NIJA PACKER

Nija is writer and communications professional based in Washington, DC. Her creative portfolio includes short fiction, screenplays, and a short film that she directed while majoring in Television and Film at Howard University. She helps keeps the Groove Haul team organized and works on written communications, such a website copy. She's also passionate about the fiber arts, such as crochet and knitting, and is an avid video game lover.

DAVID

David is a DMV-based DJ with a deep-rooted passion for techno and underground sounds. Known for driving, hypnotic sets that explore the darker edges of rhythm and repetition, David brings a distinct energy to every space he plays. As a member of the creative collective Groove Haul, he’s committed to pushing the regional scene forward—building community through sound, movement, and shared experience.
